Thanks for being a wonderful guide on my trip to investigate living in Costa Rica and for being such a great friend once I moved down. It is wonderful to know that I have someone who speaks my language, knows everything there is to know about the country and is so willing to share, guide and help in so many ways. We sure had a good time in Cahuita, didn't we! Let's do that again sometime. And, have I told you lately how much a love living here?!?
I have no doubt that you are the very best travel agent and tour guide in Costa Rica . I will send all my family and friends your way when they come to visit.

My three girlfriends and I spent 8 days in Costa Rica . It was one of the best, if not the best, vacation I've ever had. As we had specific ideas in mind, Nella customized our trip for us. She was extremely accommodating. She even made sure that we didn't miss the Superbowl and brought us to a restaurant/bar to watch it. We started our trip at the base of the Arenal volcano. It was a beautiful resort location. One day we canoed down a river. Another day we horseback rode to the La Fortuna waterfall. The second leg of our trip was in the mountains of Monteverde, zip-lining through the forest.
The cloud forests were beautiful. The accommodations were rustic log cabin like. As a New Yorker, that was new to me. I had never even gone camping. Zip-lining was a real thrill. After all the excitement, we relaxed a few days at the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio. That was a big temperature change from the mountains to the beach. We toured the Manuel Antonio National Park , saw lots of wildlife including monkeys and three-toed sloths. The final leg of our trip was at the capital. We took a day trip for white water rafting on the Reventazón River . It was awesome. I must have asked a millions questions prior to the trip. Nella was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in answering all of them. Wow! You are bringing back some great memories for me. I was one of the people in Alyssa Thau's group. Nella was our guide. I'm attaching my completed rating form. I can't express enough just how amazing this trip was. I fully intend to come back to your beautiful country. I missed it the minute I stepped foot on the plane to return to NY. Nella is absolutely amazing. She really made the trip a success. OUR TRIP
We had a great time. It was a good first trip to explore Costa Rica .
The hotel at Arenal was great - lovely little casitas in a jungle setting with a great restaurant. The town of Fortuna was a short drive away with a good selection of restaurants etc. We enjoyed the magnificent countryside and jungle. We were able to see animals from the road side which was exciting for us. I hope we got some good photos. Now that we know more we realize we could have stayed in that area a little longer, maybe next time!!! Unfortunately there was too much cloud for us to see the volcano.
We really enjoyed the safari river trip it was peaceful and wondrous, the guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We had their undivided attention..... that was a great day.
Apart from the hotel at Playa Grande we really liked the beach and the turtles the best. The beach is magnificent. We swam before 7am on Christmas morning. There were no other people on the beach!!!!!! The road getting there is terrible and the drive to the hotel is difficult to find, we stopped many times to ask the way.
The hotel is very isolated, maybe this is good or else it would end up like Tamarindo!!!! but taking a drive to explore the surroundings from that hotel is almost impossible therefore it is best not to drive anywhere. But overall we had a nice rest there because after dark at 6 pm there is absolutely nothing to do, unless you attempt to drive in the dark along the terrible roads. The beach is a dream and the turtles are a wondrous sight to behold. The estuary tour was good too.
The drive to Manuel Antonio was long it took us seven hrs total, but mostly because of the terrible roads getting out of Playa Grande. We were able to see a lot of different countryside on the drive.
Manuel Antonio was easy to drive around with a great selection of things to do and restaurants. The hotel was in a good location and quiet. Anita Kim is very accommodating and helpful.
My husband did the zip line canopy tour with the repelling. He loved it. We also enjoyed the hour drive in the bus through the jungle to get to the place and the food after was good and very welcome.
It is quite a culture shock coming back to our concrete jungle. I wake up still thinking about beautiful Costa Rica .
