After you clear customs, but before the exit glass door, please turn to the right side.  Somebody of our staff will be waiting for you with your name on a sign.  You will be picked up by Exotur’s private shuttle from San Jose International Airport to your hotel or first tour destination.

First Day - The Arrival

After your arrival, a short drive to your first night hotel, located in Santa Ana, a very nice area of San Jose, at only 20 minutes from the Airport. Hotel is perfect for your first night A Victorian style boutique hotel. Every room has:  Dining area, kitchen, balcony, cable TV, International telephone service, wireless internet, security box.

Breakfast is included.

 Second Day - Arenal Volcano Tour

 Third Day - Arenal Volcano Tour

Afternoon for a delightful Hot Springs, water that comes from the mountain and the pools that are surrounded by vegetation.

Fourth Day - Drive to Monteverde

Sky Tram & Sky Walk Tour

This spectacular old mountain trail was used before on the Spanish conquest of Costa Rica. There is quite a distance between the Arenal Volcano and the Monteverde Cloud Forest.     

La Fortuna (the town nearest the volcano) stands 350 meters above sea level, while Monteverde straddles the Continental Divide at 1,500 meters (4,500 feet- a true Cloud Forest).

The spectacular Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is a very important and popular ecotourism destination.

Rooms are comfortable and well-designed, providing you with every comfort you need after those long hikes in the Monteverde mountain, Bar and Restaurant which offers the special flavor and charm of home cooked Costa Rican cuisine.

This biological reserve sits at an elevation of between 1,200 m to 1,600 m, and is surrounded by a misty cover that supports a fantastic diversity of flora and fauna.

Fifth Day - Monteverde Tour

More than 100 species of mammals including Baird's tapir, jaguars and ocelots; over 400 bird species including the resplendent quetzal (don't you love that name?), the umbrella bird and 30 different varieties of hummingbirds.

You can see many of these animals up close at Monteverde and Santa Elena series of herpetarium (snake zoos), Frog Ponds, Bat Jungles and Butterfly Gardens.

One of the hotel’s attractions is its spectacular seaside views and the fact that it is so close to the National Park.

In the afternoon, you will visit the National Park.
