Rental Car Driving Tip
It is very important to get a map and spend some time learning where you are and where your going. Remember, road signs don't always exist. In fact, well over 90% of the roads in Costa Rica don't have a name. Addresses here are based upon North, South, East, or West of known locations. If you were to ask someone their actual of a business in a town they would respond with "150 meters east of the National Bank". So it does make it a little difficult if you don't know where the bank is.
Costa Rica Rental Car - Don't do's
Never leave the car parked where you can't see it. Day or night a vehichle can broke into. The most common method is with a screwdriver and hammer in which they break the lock. That is followed by breaking the window. If you leave your car on a street overnight, it will be broken into. Make sure to leave your rental car in paid private parking while not using it. While in towns, park at big locations like banks that have guards. Sometimes a grocery store will do if they have guards. |
