Day 1 - 3 |
| If your flight arrives in the morning, our bi-lingual guide/driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to Sarapiqui (if not, you will have a hotel room reserved in San Jose for one night). Your bird watching tour begins in a place called La Selva , (the jungle) is a private biological reserve with 3,900 acres of tropical forests, undisturbed land and an average annual rainfall of 13 feet - a bird's paradise, all 450 species of them. Accommodations include a private cabin, pool, library, fine dining, as well as frog and butterfly gardens. Half-day and full-day guided walks and a boat tour have been reserved for you. |

Volcano Arenal /
Day 4 - 5 |
The 3-hour drive to La Fortuna leaves you time to tour the area, enjoy the hot springs , lava views of the Arenal Volcano and dinner. Los Lagos , where you will be staying has a fine restaurant, hot springs fed Jacuzzi, a big pool and water sleds, tennis, and basketball courts. The next day your special treat is the guided Honeycreeper Canoe Trip down a calm water/small rapids river where you will see a huge variety of birds and other wildlife including butterflies, frogs, monkeys, iguanas and more - all in their natural habitat. After lunch on the river, enjoy a swim and a gentle paddle down river and then back to your hotel. |

MonteVerde National Park /
Day 5 - 6 |
| Crossing the Central Mountain Range of Costa Rica on an adventurous ride (not Costa Rica's best road, so leave the driving to us), you will arrive a true birdwatcher's dream - the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve , acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the Americas. The next
morning, take the 4-hour walking tour, and if you choose, the Sky Trek canopy adventure in the afternoon. |

San Jose via Sarchi /
Day 8 |
| We break up the rather long trip back to San Jose with a stop in Sarchi, famous for its artisan shops. We will stop for lunch and shopping. |

Tortuguero /
Day 9 - 11 |
The l odge were you will be staying is located on a sand bar between the Tortuguero Canals and the Caribbean Sea with direct access to the canals and the ocean. Discover the wonders of Tortuguero National Park , famous for the Green Sea Turtle and home to 300 species of birds. The next day has been planned for you with a morning and afternoon canal boat tour and dinner at the lodge. The next day you can tour another canal, explore the picturesque village of Tortuguero or lounge on a sandy beach. |

Day 12 - 13 |
| Relax at your San Jose hotel after your trip back from the Caribbean Coast and enjoy a last night of fine dining. We will pick you up at your hotel in ample time to catch your flight back home. |
